HHI Part-2

Image
WE CAME BACK, AND NOW WE HAD NO TIME TO REST.  We started practicing. But our first job to be completed was to register and submit forms . It took some time but was finally done. We had to first install an app 'BOOGALOO' and register on it. We had to fill forms for all group members and had to fill forms for solo battle separately. Those who were selected for solo battles paid there registration fees themselves. But for the group, sir had to pay it all together. It was a freaking huge amount and it took hours to get the payment done. we waited for atleast 2 hours for the processing of the payment. I took care of the forms. I got them filled, scanned and made their pdf, and then sent them to sir. Anyway. It was easily done. But wait, that isn't it. One of our members, Denise, who is an African, had to go back home because her studies was done and her visa was about to expire. So it was decided that she'll go to her country, get her visa done again and come back to go wit

NO NAME CREW

In 2022, I finished school and got admission in LPU (Lovely Professional University), in BFA (Bachelor's in Fine Arts).  Being a dancer, I had to find a home in this university. So I found Western dance Club in DSW (Block-13).  I already knew the instructor here, Mr. Pankaj Pal.  I had come to LPU for many competitions, before I took admission here. There was one such competition in which I met him. He was my mentor in that competition and the judgement was done by Chetan Salunkhe (winner of Dance+ 4). I had won that competition. From there only, a strong bond emerged between me and him. Now I'm like his 'BACHAA'πŸ˜€πŸ’“ NO NAME CREW All the seniors had passed out and the group broke up.  But sir wanted to make the group again. He had a dream to win HHI (Hip-Hop Championship). So he gathered the newbies and started making the group again. Its first members included me, Manu and Krishna. Later others joined.  We first went to MOOD INDIGO in December end. We celebrated both C

How many Dance Styles do I know?

Image
I am a versatile dancer.   I can dance many styles as my body has adapted to each style a little bit.  I have never sticked to only one style. I find it boring. But I my forte is contemporary dance. Earlier, it was necessary to teach me different styles to find my forte.❤ When I started dancing, I was first taught semi classical dance. One of my first songs were ‘ Mere Dholna Sun’ , ‘Maiya Yashodha’ and ‘Raat Ka Sama’ .  Then I was introduced to Bollywood dance and hip hop . I knew what was Bollywood dance from the movies, but I didn’t know what was hip hop. I just did hip hop and I did it good.  ‘Mera Piya Ghar Aya’ was the song I used to do Bollywood on and ‘Kabhi Kabhi Mere Dil Me’ used to be my hip hop performance. I know it is a classical song but my teacher had remixed it and made it into a hip hop song. I also used to perform on the song ‘Buttons’ of which I had not even the littlest idea, what it meant. But now that I know πŸ˜…πŸ˜¬ I think…….why? To a kid….?  Never-mind. I perf

How, why and where it all started?

It was when my mother saw herself in me. She also liked to dance and at that time the fees was only 2/- to 5/-. But this 2 or 5 rupees was today's 200 - 500 rupees and my Nanu couldn't afford it. So she wanted me to complete her wish of dancing since I used to dance like crazy on weddings. I loved the song ' Kajra Re, Tere Kare Kare Naina'πŸ’“........ She put me into dance classes in 2008. "MAGIC YEARS, HARGOBIND NAGAR, PHAGWARA" used to be the address.  The actual name was and has been NACH BALIYE DANCE ACADEMY. Its main branch used to be in Jalandhar. But now its main branch is in Phagwara and my sir MR. RAJ (AMIT) JHA, too lives in Phagwara only. There was one more teacher Mrs Nisha , who I used to call didi.  https://www.instagram.com/nachbaliyedanceacademy?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet&igsh=ZDNlZDc0MzIxNw== (Raj Sir)

My First Audition

Image
DID Lil' Masters (year)  I went to give my first audition for DID Lil’ Masters in Chandigarh when I was 4.  My sir thought that I could achieve great heights in this field and that is why he prepared me and told my parents to take me to the audition.  And it was here, where my journey started.

What is dance?

Image
Dance is a way I express myself . Dance  blinds me as well as wakes me up. A drug just to call but actually a medicine. Something that makes me happy but sometimes tears me up. I move my body with music and express what is inside me. The music I choose is a part of my expression.  If I'm happy, I'll dance on a happy song and my movements will have flow and freedom, with glow, satisfaction and smile on my face. Same goes with other feelings. Dance can have different meanings for different people. For some dance is passion, for some it's a hobby. For some it is a means to get out of world tensions. For some it is just a job, for some it has become life. What is it for me? How did I get into dance? How did it become so important for me?  To know, let us meet at my next blog.πŸ™‹
